So you want make your photos look better without learning Photoshop?

disclaimer: I am an armature photographer.  And by that, I mean I never had any professional training, and I never owned an SLR.

You brought a new 15 MegaPixel compact digital camera for your trip to the Grand Canyon. It was 10 minutes before the sunset and you are amazed by the brilliant color and striking features of the red rocks. You take a whole lot of pictures to take home to gloat in front of your friends and family about your wonderful trip and what they have missed out. But after you loaded them into your laptop, they just don’t look like what you have seem. The colors look dull, the sky look bright enough but its completely white, and the canyon doesn’t really look that impressive at all. You started wondering if you should have spend that $1000 more to get that bulky SLR that your friend is raving about. Maybe if you had brought the SLR, everything will come out just as you see it. Well, there is always a next trip….
